Today was the first day I have been out to run since the race. I went out around the neighborhood for a 3.3 mile run. I started out strong but quickly realized that the sinus infection I had was not better and I still have limited energy.
So I ended up running 9:45 minute miles. I burned 615 calories.
Tonight John will be over and we will be doing kickboxing, pull ups, sit ups push ups and another 3 miles run.

Christina's first workout
WOW!!!
That girl hates working out. Patience, patience and more patience.
We started off with some jump rope. We then went on the try hitting and kicking the heavy bag. After that I had her do some basic lifting sing 3lbs dumbbells.
That was all we could take for day one.

Feeling like I was the punching bag
Well it is Monday morning and I am definitely sore after yesterday kickboxing workout.
My sinus infection still has me feeling pretty bad so today I just jumped rope for about 5 minutes and spent about 15 minutes on the heavy bag to try to work some of the soreness out.
I am also working out with Christina for the first time tonight. That should be interesting.

First day back
Today was the first day back working out since Ironman Arizona which was two weeks ago. I had hoped to start working out last week but I came down with a sinus injection. I think the rest was probably good for me.
Now that Ironman is over I plan to get my life back. I want to get back to enjoying my workouts. My plan is to still workout 5-6 days a week but only about an hour a day. I really want to start lifting, kickboxing and running the stadium and trails. One of my goals for 2009 is to run at least one new trail a month.
Before I started training for Ironman I had gotten down to 185lbs. Three IM's later and I am at 207lbs. I always thought that I would drop a ton of weight with the Ironman training, but what I found was in order to sustain my energy, intensity and not feel like I was starving, I just couldn't lose the weight.
So I am know back on a 2000 calories diet made up of 40% carbs (mainly veggies and fruit), 40% protein (chicken and fish) and 20% fats (nuts and oils).
Today John and I spent an hour kickboxing. We started out with some jump rope then spent some time on the heavy bag, hit the focus mitts and then beat the shield. I can't believe how tired I felt.

Putting together the home gym
This weekend I cleaned out the garage so I could start to put together a home gym. I currently have a treadmill, my bike on a trainer, punching bag, speed bag, jump rope and a pull up/dip/knee raise machine.
